Chaos Knight vs Zeus

How this matchup plays

Deciding to pick one of these heroes into the other often comes down to your team's composition. Zeus has a natural advantage against Phantasm illusions, as his chain-casting spells like Arc Lightning are perfect for quickly clearing them and identifying the real Chaos Knight. His magical burst and global ultimate also keep CK under constant threat, making it difficult for him to safely split-push or re-engage a fight after taking damage. The constant barrage of magic damage can whittle down the entire illusion army before it does its job.

The matchup becomes a race. Chaos Knight’s goal is to survive the initial magic damage, get a Black King Bar, and then use Reality Rift to get on top of Zeus. Once in melee range, Zeus is extremely fragile and dies quickly to a Chaos Bolt and the physical damage from CK and any remaining illusions. For Zeus, success means keeping his distance, using slows and his Heavenly Jump to kite, and bursting Chaos Knight down before he can close the gap. The outcome of any given fight often depends entirely on who gets the jump first.
