How this matchup plays

Picking Chen into a game where Magnus is a possibility is a big gamble. The core of the problem is Empower, which turns any physical damage core into a perfect counter to Chen's entire strategy. An army of creeps that should be a massive threat instead becomes a liability, feeding gold to the enemy team as they get wiped out by cleave. Magnus himself can also contribute to clearing the zoo with Shockwave. Later on, a good Reverse Polarity can catch Chen and all his units, making it easy to clean them up. It's difficult for Chen to establish any map control when his main source of power is so easily nullified.
