Clinkz vs Necrophos

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst a lone target from invisibility is Clinkz’s entire game. Against most heroes, a full barrage of attacks is lethal. Necrophos, however, can completely deny this with Ghost Shroud. The ability makes him immune to physical damage, leaving Clinkz unable to attack for a critical duration. While ethereal, Necrophos can heal himself and damage Clinkz with Death Pulse, turning a surprise gank into a dangerous situation for the attacker. This fundamental interaction forces Clinkz to reconsider his primary approach to fights.

The matchup often comes down to item timings and target priority. In the mid-game, a Clinkz without a dispel has little chance of killing a solo Necrophos, making gank attempts on him a waste of time. Clinkz has to either build a Nullifier to purge Ghost Shroud or focus entirely on Necrophos’s teammates. This gives Necrophos space to farm and group up, where his teamfight presence becomes a much larger problem. While Clinkz can eventually itemize to handle him, the inherent defensive tool gives Necrophos a small but consistent edge throughout the game.
