Picking a Skywrath Mage into an enemy Clinkz is a calculated risk. The matchup often boils down to who acts first. Clinkz is built to appear from invisibility and unload a massive amount of physical damage instantly. A hero like Skywrath Mage is a perfect target for this, as he lacks innate escape tools and has a low health pool. If Clinkz gets the jump from Skeleton Walk, Skywrath is usually dead before he can retaliate. The reverse is also true; if Skywrath spots the approach, his instant silence from Ancient Seal can lock Clinkz down and prevent him from escaping, setting up an easy kill.

This dynamic forces the Skywrath Mage to play a much more careful game. You'll need excellent vision control and have to be cautious about your positioning away from your team. A Force Staff or Ghost Scepter becomes almost mandatory to survive the initial burst. For the Clinkz player, it's about finding that window to pick Skywrath off before a fight begins.
