Clinkz vs Slardar

How this matchup plays

Thinking you can gank Slardar and then simply fade away often ends poorly. Clinkz relies on Skeleton Walk to set up kills and escape danger, but that entire strategy is threatened by Corrosive Haze. The armor reduction is a problem on its own, but the real issue is the vision it provides. Getting tagged by that ability means there’s no hiding or repositioning with invisibility. Slardar can keep you in sight for his whole team, turning your primary survival tool into a liability and making a normally elusive hero feel very exposed.

This pressure builds as the game goes on. In the early stages, Clinkz can find advantages before Slardar has his ultimate and initiation tools online. But once Slardar gets his Blink Dagger, he can actively hunt down an invisible Clinkz or mark him at the start of a teamfight. This forces the Clinkz player to adjust, either by buying defensive items to block the Haze or by playing much more cautiously around his team. The matchup often comes down to which hero can get the jump on the other first.
