Clinkz vs Tidehunter

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down a single hero is Clinkz's entire game plan, but Tidehunter is a naturally frustrating target for him. Kraken Shell's passive damage block and debuff dispel means Tidehunter can often shrug off the opening salvo of attacks and slows that would kill a lesser hero. On top of that, Anchor Smash directly reduces the physical damage from Clinkz and his skeleton archers, taking some of the teeth out of his assault. Tidehunter isn't the fragile backline hero that Clinkz wants to find; he’s built to soak up exactly this kind of focused, physical damage.

This dynamic forces Clinkz to play a more patient game. He generally has to avoid Tidehunter and focus on other targets, but a good Tidehunter will position himself to protect those heroes. A single Ravage or even a well-placed Gush can be enough to lock down and kill a Clinkz who steps out of position. The burden is on the Clinkz player to use Skeleton Walk for scouting, wait for Ravage to be used, or find an angle where he can attack a support without Tidehunter being able to respond immediately.
