Crystal Maiden vs Gyrocopter

How this matchup plays

Getting rooted by Frostbite is often a death sentence for a Gyrocopter trying to use Rocket Barrage. Crystal Maiden’s entire kit seems designed to counter him. Her slows from Crystal Nova and Freezing Field punish his need for mobility, preventing him from getting into effective range or kiting enemies. Meanwhile, Gyrocopter has few reliable ways to interrupt her channeled ultimate before he can afford expensive items. This allows a well-positioned Crystal Maiden to dictate the terms of an engagement, forcing him to stay on the outside looking in.

This dynamic starts in the lane, where Gyrocopter struggles to play aggressively or farm safely against her constant lockdown threat. Later in the game, even with Flak Cannon active, he can be controlled from a safe distance and burst down before contributing to a fight. His typical plan to dive the back lines is easily thwarted. Gyrocopter's team must focus and eliminate the Crystal Maiden immediately, or he has to rush a Black King Bar, delaying his own damage progression and throwing off his timings.
