Crystal Maiden vs Lifestealer

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map often comes down to who wins the cooldown game. Lifestealer has a very simple answer to everything Crystal Maiden wants to do in a fight. Her Frostbite and the entire impact of her Freezing Field are both completely ignored by his Rage. This means if he decides to run at her, she has no way to stop him on her own. He can close the distance, interrupt her ultimate, and secure an easy kill. For Lifestealer, this creates windows where he can play aggressively, knowing her control won't be a factor for him.

This whole matchup is a test of positioning and timing. Early on, Crystal Maiden can be a real problem for Lifestealer before he has reliable access to Rage. Later, it flips. Lifestealer's team will try to find her so he can jump in, pop his spell immunity, and take her out before the fight begins. Her team needs to play around this, using her as bait or protecting her so she can cast her spells after Rage is used on someone else. It's a coin toss on which hero gets to use their abilities effectively in any given engagement.
