Crystal Maiden vs Morphling

How this matchup plays

Trying to get a good start as Morphling is hard, but laning against Crystal Maiden can feel impossible. Her combination of Crystal Nova and Frostbite creates constant kill threat on a hero who is naturally fragile. While Frostbite won't stop him from shifting attributes, the long root prevents any escape with Waveform. This gives Crystal Maiden and her lane partner a huge window to chain disables and burst him down. Morphling has no effective way to trade back, so he’s often forced out of lane or killed repeatedly, delaying his core items.

This early pressure snowballs hard. A delayed Morphling struggles to contribute, while Crystal Maiden empowers her team to maintain map control with Arcane Aura, shrinking his space to farm. In teamfights, a single Frostbite can still spell doom for Morphling, pinning him down for deletion. Her Freezing Field is also a major problem, zoning him from fights or killing him if he's caught. Morphling has to play a perfect game of avoidance, while CM simply needs to land her basic spells on him to win the engagement.
