Crystal Maiden vs Razor

How this matchup plays

Trying to use Static Link on a target near Crystal Maiden is a losing battle. Razor needs to stay close to drain damage, but Frostbite locks him in place, breaking the tether and leaving him vulnerable. Even a simple Crystal Nova creates enough distance to snap the link and ruin his whole plan. All of Razor's aggression is built around that link connecting, and Maiden’s basic spells are perfectly suited to deny him that uptime, effectively disabling his main offensive tool with her standard kit.

This means Razor can't easily run down her cores in lane or in mid-game fights. He gets rooted or slowed, the link breaks, and the target gets away. To have a real impact, Razor is forced to focus Crystal Maiden first, but she can play far back and still be effective. The very control that makes them a great pair on the same team is what makes this matchup so difficult for Razor; she enables or disables his game plan with the same tools, depending on which side she's on.
