Crystal Maiden vs Venomancer

How this matchup plays

Rooting Venomancer in place with Frostbite completely shuts down his game. He relies on being able to apply his poisons over time and kite enemies, but a single lockdown from Crystal Maiden leaves him exposed and vulnerable. Her own burst damage from Crystal Nova and attacks is often enough to kill him before his damage-over-time effects become a real threat. It’s a classic case of immediate, high damage beating out a slow burn, as Venomancer rarely gets to finish what he starts before he's already dead.

Across the map, this allows Crystal Maiden to dictate the pace of fights. She enables her team to get quick pick-offs on Venomancer or his allies, preventing the long, messy engagements where his kit excels. Venomancer is forced to play much more defensively, relying on his Plague Wards for vision and chip damage from a safe distance. However, any time he pushes his luck or gets caught by a rotation, CM's control is usually enough to secure the kill, making it very difficult for him to have an impact.
