Picking a slippery midlaner like Void Spirit usually means you can dodge skillshots, but Crystal Maiden presents a specific problem. Her Frostbite is a targeted root, and while a well-timed Dissimilate can avoid the effect, the pressure is always on the Void Spirit player to execute that perfectly. If Dissimilate is on cooldown or the timing is off, he’s caught out of position. This constant threat of an instant, targeted disable forces him to be much more cautious about how he commits to a fight, which can curb his usual aggression and give her team a slight opening.

This dynamic plays out from the start, where a support Crystal Maiden can make laning tricky for him. In teamfights, Void Spirit has a tougher choice than usual. He can try to burst a different target and risk getting locked down by Frostbite, or he has to commit everything to killing CM first, hoping she doesn't react in time.
