Dark Seer vs Invoker

How this matchup plays

Grouping the enemy team for a combo is often less reliable against an Invoker. His spells are well-suited to breaking up the clump that Dark Seer creates with Vacuum. A well-timed Tornado can lift the entire group, nullifying the setup, while Deafening Blast can push everyone away from a Wall of Replica. Even a simple Ice Wall can slow the follow-up so much that the combo fizzles. Invoker has multiple ways to spoil Dark Seer's main plan from a safe distance, which gives him an advantage in big teamfights.

This edge is far from guaranteed, however. The responsibility is on the Invoker to have the correct spell ready and the reaction time to use it. A Dark Seer who initiates with Blink Dagger can often land his combo before Invoker can respond. Catching the Invoker himself in the Vacuum is also a clear win condition, as he is quite fragile when pulled out of position. It forces the Invoker to play cautiously and manage his spellbook carefully whenever Dark Seer is off the map.
