Dark Seer vs Shadow Shaman

How this matchup plays

Pulling a channeling Shadow Shaman with Vacuum seems like an easy way to save a teammate, but the reality is more of a standoff. Shadow Shaman can often get the jump first with an instant Hex, preventing Dark Seer from casting anything at all. If Dark Seer does get his spells off, a good Vacuum can definitely disrupt Shackles, but his Wall of Replica is not very threatening to Serpent Wards. The wards themselves also provide a lot of vision around objectives, making it harder for Dark Seer to find a good angle for his combo without being seen and disabled first.

Early on, Shadow Shaman holds the advantage in lane with his strong lockdown, making it tough for Dark Seer to farm or apply pressure with Ion Shell. As the game transitions into teamfights, it becomes a battle of initiation. If Dark Seer's team gets the jump, he can use Surge on a core to get on top of Shaman before he can cast. But if Shadow Shaman's team finds Dark Seer first, a quick Hex can take him out of the fight before he contributes anything. It really comes down to which team plays around their hero's timings better.
