Dark Willow vs Void Spirit

How this matchup plays

Thinking you can reliably lock down Void Spirit with a Cursed Crown is a common mistake. A patient Void Spirit can simply time Dissimilate to dodge the stun completely, leaving Dark Willow with a major spell on cooldown. His general mobility from Astral Step also makes him a nightmare for Bramble Maze. He can often weave around the patches or even zip through them before they can root him. It’s not that Willow can’t ever catch him, but he has a direct answer for her most reliable forms of control, which puts the pressure on her to execute perfectly.

This advantage allows Void Spirit to control the pace of their interactions. He can threaten a solo kill, forcing Dark Willow to use Shadow Realm defensively to survive his initial burst. Once she reappears, he has the chase potential with Astral Step to finish the job if she's caught alone. For Willow to succeed, she needs to play with her team, using Terrorize as a counter-initiation tool and trying to bait out his defensive spells before committing her own. The burden of outplaying the opponent falls more heavily on the Willow player.
