How this matchup plays

Trying to control a charging Dawnbreaker with Earth Spirit feels like it should work, but her momentum is often too much. Once she starts swinging with Starbreaker, a single kick or silence from Earth Spirit isn't enough to stop the damage and stun. She's also naturally durable, so even if she gets caught by a Rolling Boulder, she can usually survive the initial hit and turn the fight around. Dawnbreaker can also use Celestial Hammer to reposition or escape, making it difficult for Earth Spirit to commit to a lockdown unless he has immediate backup.

Later on, Dawnbreaker's Solar Guardian pressures the entire map, which works against Earth Spirit’s goal of creating pick-offs and controlling tempo. She can instantly join and reverse a gank that he sets up. For Earth Spirit to win engagements, he needs to land a perfect combo and have his team capitalize instantly. Otherwise, Dawnbreaker tends to set the pace of fights, forcing Earth Spirit to play reactively. He can certainly disrupt her, but he has a much harder time fully shutting her down.
