Trying to gank a lane is how Lion creates pressure, but this plan falls apart against Dawnbreaker. Any time Lion attempts to lock down an isolated hero, Dawnbreaker can use Solar Guardian to fly across the map and turn the fight completely. She lands with a heal and damage, often making Lion the target instead. Even when she's the one being initiated on, Dawnbreaker is durable enough to survive Lion’s initial burst of spells, giving her time to activate her ultimate or for her team to collapse and punish the overextension.

This constant threat completely changes how the map is played. Dawnbreaker’s allies can farm more aggressively, knowing that help is a button press away, while Lion’s team feels hesitant to make any moves. For the Lion player, it means having to wait until Dawnbreaker has shown on the map or used her ultimate elsewhere before he can safely attempt a gank. That downtime is often all Dawnbreaker and her team need to build an irreversible lead in farm and objectives.
