Dawnbreaker vs Timbersaw

How this matchup plays

Thinking Timbersaw can tank a strength hero with Reactive Armor is a common trap in this matchup. A huge portion of Dawnbreaker's damage is magical from her spells, which completely ignores his armor stacks. Her kit is also full of control that Timbersaw hates. A well-timed Starbreaker stun or the landing from Solar Guardian can interrupt his Timber Chain, leaving him stranded and vulnerable. It completely negates the slippery, tanky style he wants to play, as he can't get his armor built up if he's constantly stunned and burst down.

During the laning phase, Dawnbreaker can often bully Timbersaw out with this mixed damage before his armor is high. Her sustain from Luminosity lets her win trades he needs to avoid. Later on, Timbersaw becomes a prime target for a Solar Guardian gank or a direct assault with Celestial Hammer. He has to play very carefully, because if Dawnbreaker gets on top of him, he can’t create space or escape. His only real option is to stay far away from her and hope his team can handle her while he chips away at other targets.
