Dazzle vs Invoker

How this matchup plays

Fights often hinge on a single spell from either side, creating a standoff where neither hero can consistently dictate the pace of the game. Invoker's entire plan is to catch a key target and unload a massive spell combination for an instant kill. Dazzle, however, directly counters this strategy with Shallow Grave, which buys enough time for the target to survive the burst and turn the fight. This fundamental clash means the Invoker can't rely on his usual pickoff plan to build a lead. He is instead forced to find Dazzle first, or bait out the Grave on a less important hero.

This dynamic leads to a delicate positioning game in teamfights. Dazzle has to stay hidden in the backline, while the Invoker is constantly looking for an angle to initiate on him with spells like Tornado or Cold Snap. The outcome of a fight often depends entirely on who wins this private duel. If Dazzle successfully saves his core from Invoker’s full combo, Invoker is left with nothing and his team is vulnerable. But if Dazzle gets caught and dies first, the rest of his team will quickly follow.
