Dazzle vs Lifestealer

How this matchup plays

Running at a priority target during Rage feels like it should be a guaranteed kill, but Dazzle often has other plans. The magic immunity from Rage means Dazzle can't easily slow or disable Lifestealer, but Shallow Grave doesn't care about magic immunity. It will save the target anyway, forcing Lifestealer to either wait out the Grave or switch focus, wasting his most important cooldown. This creates a standoff where Lifestealer's primary offensive tool is directly met by Dazzle's primary defensive tool, with each hero waiting for the other to commit first.

This dynamic means fights often revolve around baiting these key abilities. A smart Lifestealer will try to get on Dazzle himself to remove the save from the fight entirely, sometimes using Infest to get the jump. In response, Dazzle has to play cautiously from the back lines, using his teammates as a buffer. The success of either hero often comes down to execution and positioning. Whichever side manages their cooldowns better or catches the other hero out first usually dictates the teamfight, making this a very even contest of skill.
