Dazzle vs Lion

How this matchup plays

Trying to delete a target with Finger of Death gets complicated when Dazzle is on the other team. Lion's entire game plan revolves around locking down and bursting a single hero, but Shallow Grave is a direct answer to that burst. It completely negates the kill threat from Lion's ultimate, forcing him to play around a single, non-ultimate cooldown. The main recourse for Lion is to find and Hex the Dazzle first, turning teamfights into a tense battle of who can disable the other support before they can use their most important spell.

This dynamic makes the lane phase and later teamfights a bit of a cat-and-mouse game. In lane, Lion can pressure Dazzle effectively with Mana Drain, keeping him from spamming his spells. In larger fights, however, Dazzle's positioning becomes key. As long as he stays safe in the backline, he can reliably save whichever core the Lion attempts to blow up. If Dazzle gets caught out or Hexed before he can cast Grave, Lion's team usually wins the engagement, but the need to focus Dazzle first often gives his cores the space they need.
