Dazzle vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

Seeing a Dazzle get picked often makes you look for heroes who can bypass his saves. Spectre is a classic answer because her kit works against what Dazzle wants to do. Dazzle excels at saving one core from a single instance of burst with Shallow Grave. Spectre's Haunt, however, damages everyone at once, creating chaos that one Grave can't solve. Her illusions can instantly jump on Dazzle himself, forcing him to use his defensive spells on his own position or die before he can save anyone.

This dynamic defines the mid and late game. A farmed Spectre will often use Haunt with the specific goal of killing Dazzle first. She can ignore the tanky frontline, find him in the back, and stick on him with Spectral Dagger. Without Dazzle's healing and Grave, his team crumbles. The Dazzle player is forced into a purely defensive game, needing to stay grouped and hidden. But even with perfect positioning, a global ultimate means Spectre will always find her target, making it extremely difficult for Dazzle to have an impact.
