Death Prophet vs Lion

Facing a Lion as Death Prophet often means fighting a war of attrition over mana. His Mana Drain directly attacks her ability to pressure the lane and farm with Crypt Swarm, forcing her into a more defensive posture early on. This resource strain is a persistent issue, and it's compounded by Lion's Hex. A well-timed Hex can completely stop Death Prophet, either interrupting a key Spirit Siphon or neutralizing her during Exorcism when she's most committed to a fight. These tools give Lion a consistent way to undermine her core strengths.

As the game progresses, this dynamic shapes the teamfights. Death Prophet wants to be in the center of the action with her ultimate active, but she's always playing around the threat of Lion's instant disable. She may need to prioritize a Black King Bar earlier than usual or rely on teammates to zone Lion out before she can fully commit. Lion, on the other hand, must position carefully. If he gets caught or silenced, he can't provide the control needed to stop the Exorcism and often dies quickly. Lion simply has slightly more direct tools to disrupt Death Prophet's game plan than she has to disrupt his.
