Disruptor vs Earth Spirit

How this matchup plays

Picking Disruptor often means worrying about how you'll survive mobile initiators. Earth Spirit has the tools to make Disruptor's life difficult, using Rolling Boulder to close distance quickly and bypass frontliners. Once close, a silence from Geomagnetic Grip can stop Disruptor from casting Glimpse or Kinetic Field in response. While a perfectly timed Glimpse can punish an over-extended Earth Spirit, he generally has the initiative to start the fight on his own terms. This makes it hard for Disruptor to safely set up his powerful Static Storm and Field combination.

This forces a constant positioning battle across the map. Earth Spirit will always be looking for a flank or an opening to jump the back line where Disruptor wants to be. Disruptor's success hinges on staying far behind his cores and having enough vision to see the initiation coming. If Earth Spirit gets on top of him, he can often secure the kill before Disruptor can be saved. If Disruptor and his team can spot the roll-in and lock Earth Spirit down first, the fight can swing back their way, but the initial pressure is on Disruptor to react correctly.
