Disruptor vs Invoker

How this matchup plays

Trying to lock down an Invoker is often a frustrating task for Disruptor. A well-timed Glimpse is supposed to be a death sentence, but Invoker has several ways to survive being pulled back. With a common Eul's Scepter purchase, he can make himself invulnerable as he arrives, dodging any immediate follow-up stuns or Static Storm damage. Even without items, a Quas Wex Invoker can use Ghost Walk to move around the map unseen, making him a much harder target for Glimpse in the first place. This simply forces Disruptor to work harder for his pickoffs.

The dynamic shifts as the game progresses. Early on, Disruptor might find openings to punish Invoker before he has key defensive items online. But once Invoker has a Eul's or a Blink Dagger, he becomes far more slippery. The pressure then falls on Disruptor and his team to have perfect vision, silence Invoker before he can react, and apply enough damage to finish the job. If they can't, Invoker will often escape, wasting Disruptor's long cooldowns and allowing him to keep applying pressure elsewhere on the map.
