The decision to pick Disruptor into Luna often comes down to confidence in playing around one specific item timing. Before Luna gets a Black King Bar, Disruptor's life is pretty straightforward. He can use Glimpse to completely ruin her positioning in a fight or send her back to a lane she just left, crippling her farm. A successful Kinetic Field can easily trap a BKB-less Luna for his team to collapse on. However, the moment Luna activates that BKB, she can simply walk through the Field and Static Storm, making Disruptor's whole control combo feel useless against her.

This creates a clear pivot point in the game. Early on, Disruptor can make Luna's game very difficult. The pressure is on Luna to survive these initial stages and secure her core items. Once she has her BKB, the fights are on her terms for its duration, and she can run directly at Disruptor's team.
