Disruptor vs Mars

How this matchup plays

Picking Mars into an enemy Disruptor is a huge risk. Mars relies on catching enemies inside his Arena of Blood to be effective in teamfights, but Disruptor's kit directly counters this plan. A well-timed Glimpse sends Mars right back to where he initiated from, completely wasting his ultimate. Even if Mars successfully traps a target, Disruptor can drop Kinetic Field and Static Storm into the Arena, turning Mars's ultimate into a death trap for his own allies. The heroes have fundamentally opposed abilities.

This dynamic defines every major fight past the laning stage. A successful Arena initiation from Mars can be game-winning, but he can't make that move if Disruptor is alive with spells ready. Mars is often forced to buy a Black King Bar much earlier than he'd like, and even that doesn't stop Kinetic Field from blocking his team's follow-up. Disruptor's job becomes staying safe in the backline. The moment Mars commits, he can be Glimpsed away or his trapped targets can be contained, neutralizing Mars's impact on the fight.
