Disruptor vs Phantom Assassin

How this matchup plays

Trying to control the map against a Phantom Assassin can be a scary proposition for Disruptor. Her ability to close the distance with Phantom Strike and burst a target down means Disruptor is often forced to play back, making it harder to establish vision. This matchup is a duel of initiation versus counter-initiation. While her Blur makes her evasive against right-clicks, it does nothing to stop Disruptor's spells. A well-timed Glimpse can completely undo her aggression, pulling her away from her target and often into a Kinetic Field, turning her own gank into a trap.

Early in the game, Disruptor can set up kills on Phantom Assassin to slow down her farm. As the game goes on, everything changes when she gets a Black King Bar. With spell immunity, she can ignore Disruptor's entire toolkit and jump on him with impunity. At that point, Disruptor's survival depends entirely on his positioning and defensive items like a Ghost Scepter or Force Staff. Fights become a matter of which hero can execute their plan first: either PA finds and deletes Disruptor before he can cast his spells, or he's safe enough to punish her dive on a teammate.
