Disruptor vs Pugna

How this matchup plays

Casting Disruptor's full combo near a Nether Ward is a quick way to kill yourself. Glimpse, Kinetic Field, and Static Storm all trigger the Ward, dealing massive damage back to Disruptor for doing his job. This makes Pugna a serious problem, as his Ward can completely zone Disruptor out of a teamfight. On the other hand, Pugna is a fragile hero who is very susceptible to that exact combo. If Disruptor can initiate on Pugna himself before the Ward is placed, Pugna will usually die without being able to contribute much.

The matchup becomes a battle of positioning and vision. Pugna's goal is to keep himself and his Ward hidden, creating a safe area for his team where Disruptor can't use his ultimate effectively. Disruptor's priority shifts to finding and bursting down Pugna before a major fight breaks out, or at least destroying the Ward. If Pugna survives the initial burst, he can often turn the engagement with Life Drain on a caught target. Who gets the jump on whom usually decides the fight, leading to a very even exchange overall.
