Catching a Venomancer with Static Storm and Kinetic Field seems like the perfect answer, but it's often too late. His whole game is about landing a big Poison Nova, and once that's done, his impact is already spreading through your team. Locking him down after the fact doesn't stop the damage. The real battle is about preventing that initial cast. A good Glimpse on Venomancer as he tries to position himself can completely ruin his setup, sending him away before he can get his spells off. So the matchup isn't about what Disruptor does after the damage is out, but whether he can stop it from happening at all.

This makes teamfights very dependent on who gets the initiation. If Disruptor’s team jumps first and he lands his combo on Venomancer before the Nova, the fight is likely won. If Venomancer’s team gets the jump or he finds a good angle to use his ultimate on key targets, Disruptor’s control can feel like it's a step behind the fight.
