Disruptor vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Getting jumped at night by a Disruptor is a serious problem for Windranger. If her Windrun is on cooldown, the combination of Kinetic Field and Static Storm offers no escape; the silence from the ultimate prevents her from using items, and she is easily brought down. Glimpse is also a constant threat, able to pull her back into the fight right after she uses Windrun to try and get away. On the other hand, a preemptive Windrun gives Windranger enough speed to often walk out of the Kinetic Field unharmed. If she lands a good Shackleshot, the tables turn completely, as Disruptor is fragile and dies quickly to Focus Fire.

The matchup often comes down to positioning and who acts first. A Disruptor wants to force out Windrun with some initial damage or pressure, then lock Windranger down when she's vulnerable. Windranger looks for angles to initiate with Shackleshot or waits for Disruptor to commit his spells to someone else before she joins the fight. Late-game item choices are critical; a Black King Bar on Windranger makes her almost immune to Disruptor's control, while a Force Staff or Glimmer Cape can save Disruptor from a Focus Fire. The better player usually dictates the outcome.
