Windranger (WR) Counter Picks — 7.41f
Who counters Windranger (WR) in Dota 2 7.41f? Counter picks and matchups for Windranger, ranked by win rate from ranked matches.
Windranger is a versatile pickoff core whose Shackleshot roots a hero against a target, Powershot nukes from range, and Focus Fire unloads massive attack speed on a single hero or tower. She's strong into immobile heroes her Shackle pins: Timbersaw, Gyrocopter and Chen get locked and bursted. Windranger is countered by tanks and scalers a single Shackle can't finish: Spectre, Wraith King and Axe out-tank or out-scale, while Tidehunter out-fights. Draft tip: Windranger is a strong pickoff and tower-melt core/support into squishy drafts; she's weaker into tanky hard-carries and AoE-teamfight line-ups.
In Dota 2 7.41f, the heroes that counter Windranger hardest are Wraith King, Phantom Lancer and Spectre — Windranger wins only 42.9%, 44.8% and 44.9% of ranked matches against them.
How to counter Windranger: why these picks work
- Wraith King — Focus Fire is single-target execution — and Wraith King must be executed twice. Reincarnation devalues her one big damage button more than any armor item could.
- Phantom Lancer — Her kit is built to kill one target: Shackleshot needs the real Lancer and Focus Fire burns on a single body while twenty more keep swinging.
- Spectre — Haunt appears on top of the perch Windranger shoots from, and Dispersion reflects a slice of every Focus Fire arrow straight back at her.
- Riki — Smoke Screen both silences (no Windrun, no Shackleshot) and makes her attacks miss — the two halves of her kit switched off by one cloud she can't see coming.
