Doom vs Nature's Prophet

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map's resources gets complicated when Nature's Prophet is constantly pushing. Doom, however, has the ideal tools to punish this playstyle. Devouring Treants denies pushes and accelerates Doom’s own farm, turning Prophet’s main strength into a liability. More importantly, a single cast of Doom's ultimate completely neutralizes Prophet's slipperiness. Without access to Teleportation or his other spells, he's an easy kill for any follow-up. This constant threat limits Prophet's split-pushing and slows his overall tempo.

Early on, Nature's Prophet will try to leverage his global presence to stay away from Doom and create pressure elsewhere. The game changes once Doom secures a Blink Dagger. At that point, any lane Prophet shows up in becomes a potential trap. Doom can blink in, use his ultimate, and secure a kill that often leads to a tower or Roshan for his team. This forces the Nature's Prophet to either risk getting picked off or to group with his team, which isn't where he's most effective. Doom effectively shrinks the map for his opponent, turning Prophet's greatest strength into a major vulnerability.
