Doom vs Hoodwink

How this matchup plays

Getting a clean ultimate cast as Doom feels difficult against a good Hoodwink. His game plan often involves running at a key hero, but Hoodwink's kit is built to counter exactly that. With Scurry, she can gain phased movement and speed near trees, making her incredibly slippery and hard to chase down. If Doom does commit to a chase, he's an easy target for a Bushwhack from the treeline, stopping his initiation attempt completely. She excels at playing from positions where Doom struggles to get vision or access, making her a frustrating target for him.

This dynamic forces Doom to adapt. He might need a Blink Dagger or a Shadow Blade to get the jump on anyone, not just Hoodwink. If he overcommits trying to reach her in a teamfight, he's often left exposed and can be collapsed on. The most common outcome is that Doom simply decides to use his ultimate on a different, more accessible target. Hoodwink doesn't shut him down, but her presence alone can be enough to disrupt his preferred plan, giving her team a small edge in skirmishes.
