How this matchup plays

Using Doom on an isolated target usually guarantees a kill, but Clockwerk complicates that plan. If Doom tries to run at a hero, Clockwerk can use Power Cogs to block him off or push him away, buying crucial seconds for the target to escape. Even if Doom successfully casts his ultimate, Clockwerk can still trap the Doomed hero safely inside cogs or use Hookshot to initiate on a different target, turning the fight around before Doom's team can follow up. Clockwerk's own disruptive nature with Battery Assault also makes him a difficult hero for Doom to approach directly without getting interrupted.

This dynamic means Clockwerk often dictates the tempo of engagements. He can use Hookshot to start a fight on his terms, forcing Doom to react rather than initiate. Doom’s best-case scenario is catching Clockwerk out of position before he can use his spells, or waiting for Clockwerk to commit to a target before casting his own ultimate on a higher-value hero.
