Doom vs Silencer

How this matchup plays

Trying to start a fight with Doom's ultimate is a huge risk when Silencer is on the other team. Global Silence can be used reactively to stop the cast entirely, or to prevent any spell-based follow-up from Doom's allies, often saving the target. Even before that, Doom has a hard time farming the items he needs. Silencer’s laning pressure from spells like Last Word and Glaives of Wisdom makes using Devour a liability, slowing down his timings and keeping his mana pool low with stolen intelligence.

This dynamic puts the entire burden of initiation onto the Doom player, whose main contribution is now easily negated from anywhere on the map. He is forced to play around Silencer's ultimate, either waiting for it to be used on someone else or trying to initiate on Silencer himself. Both options make Doom's game plan predictable and far less effective, giving Silencer's team control over the tempo of major engagements.
