Doom vs Techies

How this matchup plays

Thinking that a single-target lockdown like Doom is the perfect answer to a slippery hero is a common mistake. The reality is that Techies controls the map in a way that dismantles Doom’s entire game plan. Any attempt to use a Blink Dagger to initiate can be ruined by Sticky Bombs, which break the item and slow him before he can even cast his ultimate. Doom's whole approach relies on that clean initiation, and Techies takes it away by controlling the very ground he needs to cross, turning a predator into a slow, predictable target.

Playing against this feels suffocating for the Doom player. He wants to farm the jungle to accelerate, but those camps are likely mined. He wants to find a pickoff, but every path is a potential trap. This forces him into a paranoid, reactive state, unable to make proactive plays. Even in a big teamfight where Doom finds his target, Techies can operate safely from the edge of the fight, using Blast Off for positioning and throwing out damage while the primary threat is occupied.
