Doom vs Ursa

How this matchup plays

Casting Doom on Ursa makes him almost completely useless for its duration. Ursa relies on activating Overpower and his items to close gaps and burst a target down quickly. The Doom ultimate prevents all of that, turning him into a target that can only auto-attack. While his Enrage can still be active for damage reduction, he loses the ability to chase, blink, or use any other tool. He becomes a big, tanky creep that can’t contribute to a fight, which is the exact opposite of what an Ursa wants to do.

This matchup is a coin flip because it all comes down to who gets the jump. Ursa’s whole plan is to find an opening and instantly delete a hero, and Doom is often a prime target. If Ursa initiates on Doom from fog or with a Blink Dagger, he can frequently kill him before the ultimate is even cast. Doom has to play carefully, positioning himself so he can survive the initial burst and get his spell off. This often forces Ursa to build a Linken's Sphere, which complicates things further for Doom and can buy Ursa the time he needs to win the fight.
