How this matchup plays

Pushing down a tower feels like a race against the clock for Dragon Knight when a Lion is on the enemy team. Lion has the perfect tools to interrupt this plan: Hex and Earth Spike offer enough lockdown to hold DK in place, while Finger of Death provides the magic burst to supplement his allies' damage. This forces DK to play cautiously, as getting caught can be fatal. On the other hand, Dragon Knight's own stun and high physical damage in Elder Dragon Form are more than enough to kill Lion. If Lion mispositions for a moment, he can be blinked on and killed before he can cast a single spell.

The whole game revolves around key item timings and who gets the jump. Before Dragon Knight has a Black King Bar, Lion can feel confident in controlling him during fights. The moment that item is finished, the dynamic flips entirely, and Lion becomes the prey. He is then forced to rely on smart positioning and waiting out the BKB duration from the safety of the backlines. It becomes a standoff where both heroes can punish the other for a single mistake, but neither has a definitive, lasting advantage over the other.
