Dragon Knight vs Razor

How this matchup plays

Thinking that Static Link automatically wins the lane against a melee hero is a common trap. While Razor can certainly punish Dragon Knight for bad positioning, the matchup is more of a two-way street. Dragon Knight's Dragon Tail provides a clean break from the link, creating a window to trade back or simply disengage. DK's high natural armor and regeneration from Dragon Blood also let him absorb a lot of poke, meaning Razor has to fully commit to get a real advantage. Neither hero can reliably bully the other out of the lane without a significant mistake from their opponent.

As the game moves into the mid-game, both heroes want to fill a similar role as a durable, tower-hitting frontliner. The dynamic becomes about initiation and timing. A Dragon Knight who gets the jump on Razor with a stun can neutralize him before he becomes a threat. Conversely, a Razor who successfully gets a full link onto Dragon Knight during a teamfight will melt him and steal all his damage. Success often comes down to which hero’s team provides better setup or which player has the superior map awareness to land the first blow.
