How this matchup plays

Closing the gap on Sniper feels like it should be Dragon Knight's job, but it’s harder than it looks. Sniper’s incredible attack range lets him whittle anyone down from afar. The slows from Shrapnel and Headshot procs make approaching him a real chore, even for a durable hero. Dragon Knight has to walk through a field of damage and slows to get into range for his Dragon Tail stun. While Dragon Blood provides some resilience against the harassment, it doesn't solve the core problem of getting kited before he can ever connect.

Dragon Knight’s game plan often revolves around getting a Blink Dagger to bypass this problem. Before that timing, laning and early fights can be difficult as Sniper controls the pace from a safe position. Once DK has his initiation, the dynamic can shift. A successful blink-stun on Sniper is usually a death sentence for him. The matchup often comes down to this specific interaction: Sniper’s positioning and vision versus Dragon Knight's ability to find an opening. It’s a slight advantage for Sniper because he dictates the terms of engagement more often than not.
