Drow Ranger vs Hoodwink

How this matchup plays

Getting caught by a Gust is a serious problem for Hoodwink. Her entire kit relies on being able to cast spells to escape or disable an enemy, and the silence removes all her options. Unable to Scurry to the safety of the trees, she's a sitting duck for Drow Ranger's physical damage. The Frost Arrows slow makes it even harder to break away, and since Marksmanship lets Drow's attacks pierce through armor, Hoodwink can't rely on her Agility to keep her alive once she's caught. A brief moment of silence is often all it takes for Drow to secure the kill.

The matchup often becomes a game of positioning and vision control. Hoodwink wants to play on the edges of fights, using the trees to land a crucial Bushwhack or to snipe a low-health target with Sharpshooter. Drow Ranger, on the other hand, wants to force fights in open areas where Hoodwink has no cover. If Drow can anticipate where Hoodwink is hiding and get the jump with her silence, she has a clear upper hand. If Hoodwink can stay hidden and land her stun first, the fight can swing the other way, which is why Drow's advantage feels conditional.
