Drow Ranger vs Kunkka

How this matchup plays

Catching Drow Ranger with a full Kunkka combo often feels like it should be an easy kill, but it's harder to execute than it seems. Drow's Gust provides a powerful, instant silence and knockback. If she reacts in time, she can interrupt Kunkka after he's used X Marks the Spot, leaving him unable to cast Torrent or his Ghostship and stuck right in front of her. This forces him to rely on landing the boat from long range to even start a fight. Kunkka’s main goal is to close the distance and disable her Marksmanship, but a good Gust can completely turn that aggression against him.

The whole game becomes a test of initiation and reaction time. Kunkka will try to use vision advantages to land a Ghostship from fog, hoping to stun Drow Ranger before she can respond. The Drow player, in turn, needs to anticipate this and position herself so she can see him coming or has teammates ready to help. If Kunkka is forced to walk into a fight, Drow can usually kite him effectively. Ultimately, fights are often decided by which of these two heroes lands their key spell first, making the engagement feel very uncertain for both sides.
