Drow Ranger vs Lina

How this matchup plays

Assuming Lina can easily burst down a target like Drow Ranger is often where things go wrong. Drow's Gust is a direct counter to that plan. The instant silence and knockback will completely shut down Lina's spell combo, preventing her from using Light Strike Array or Laguna Blade. This interruption creates the space Drow needs to turn the fight. Once her spells are locked out, Lina is a very fragile hero who can't effectively trade right-clicks against the physical damage from Marksmanship, especially when slowed by Frost Arrows.

The matchup becomes a game of vision and initiation. Lina is forced to look for an ambush, often with a Blink Dagger, to land her stun before Drow Ranger can react. Drow, on the other hand, plays best from the back line, letting her teammates provide vision and absorb the initial jump. If Lina can’t get a clean opening or build a Black King Bar to ignore the silence, she’ll usually find herself kited and killed. This reaction-based duel is why Drow tends to have the upper hand.
