Drow Ranger vs Necrophos

How this matchup plays

Expecting Necrophos to simply run down a Drow Ranger often ends in disappointment. Drow has excellent tools to maintain distance, using Frost Arrows to make him a sitting duck from afar. If he tries to push through the slows, a well-timed Gust can silence his spells and push him back, denying him the close-range fight he needs for Heartstopper Aura to be effective. However, Drow is exceptionally fragile. If Necrophos or his allies manage to close the distance, she has no escape. A single stun can be a death sentence, letting him get in range for his spells and an eventual Reaper's Scythe.

The matchup is a constant battle of positioning. Drow Ranger wants to play from the back, using her team as a wall to keep Necrophos out of reach while she chips away at his health. Necrophos, on the other hand, is always looking for a gap in the formation or a Blink Dagger initiation to get on top of her. The outcome of any given fight often depends entirely on which team better enables their hero's game plan. Since one hero wants to avoid contact and the other thrives on it, the result is a stalemate until one side makes a mistake.
