Drow Ranger vs Puck

How this matchup plays

Thinking a mobile hero like Puck should run over Drow Ranger is a common mistake. While Puck wants to get close to burst squishy targets, Drow has the perfect tool to stop that. A well-timed Gust completely disrupts Puck's initiation. The instant silence can catch Puck mid-Illusory Orb or right after a Waning Rift, preventing the usual Phase Shift escape or Dream Coil follow-up. This turns Puck's aggressive jump into a fatal misplay, leaving them stranded and vulnerable in front of Drow and her team. Puck can't play their normal slippery game when their core escape is so easily disabled.

This dynamic forces Puck to play with extreme caution all game. They have to wait for Drow to use Gust on someone else or rely on teammates to create an opening, which is often too slow. Meanwhile, Drow Ranger is free to do what she does best: keep her distance and tear through the enemy team with Frost Arrows and high physical damage. If Puck can't find a way to get on top of Drow without getting silenced, Drow simply out-scales and controls teamfights from the back line, giving her a small but consistent advantage.
