Drow Ranger vs Techies

How this matchup plays

Pushing a tower as Drow Ranger against a Techies on the other team can feel awkward. Drow wants to stand her ground and let Marksmanship do its work from a distance, but Techies excels at punishing stationary heroes. A single Sticky Bomb can force her to break position, and walking into a Proximity Mine before a fight can cripple her. Getting silenced by Blast Off! is also a major problem, as it prevents her from using Gust to peel for herself if the enemy team dives past her frontline. This core interaction gives Techies a slight edge in teamfights and objective sieges.

The game becomes about vision and patience. Drow Ranger needs her team to provide constant de-mining, or she has to invest in detection herself to create safe zones to hit from. She can’t just walk up to a tower and start shooting. On the other side, Techies will focus on mining the high ground and common flanking paths Drow might use. The constant threat of his mines forces Drow to play much more slowly and cautiously than she would like, which can delay her timings and reduce her overall impact on the map.
