Drow Ranger vs Treant Protector

How this matchup plays

Fighting into a Treant Protector often feels like a game of cat and mouse. Drow Ranger has the tools to keep him at a distance, using Frost Arrows to make it difficult for him to close the gap if he's visible. A well-timed Gust can also interrupt his approach or even push him back. However, Treant's ability to move unseen through the trees lets him bypass these defenses. If he gets close without being spotted, he disables Drow's main source of damage and can lock her down for his team to finish.

This matchup frequently comes down to vision control and positioning. Drow needs her team to provide sentries so she can see Treant coming and react accordingly. If she can keep him in sight, she can usually kite him and win the fight. But if Treant Protector finds an opening from the fog of war, a single Overgrowth can be enough to catch and kill Drow before she can respond. The fight is decided by who sets the terms of engagement: Drow from a distance, or Treant up close.
