Drow Ranger vs Ursa

How this matchup plays

Thinking Ursa can close the distance and burst a squishy carry often proves to be a fatal mistake against Drow Ranger. Her entire kit is built to create and maintain distance, which is the direct counter to Ursa's game plan. The constant slow from Frost Arrows makes it incredibly difficult for him to approach on foot. Even if he uses a Blink Dagger, a well-timed Gust shoves him back, creating a huge gap. While Ursa can cast Enrage to remove slows, he can't remove the physical distance Gust creates, leaving him stranded and vulnerable.

This dynamic makes the entire game an uphill battle for Ursa. He has to commit his Blink Dagger and Enrage cooldowns just for a chance to get on top of Drow Ranger. In teamfights, this usually means blinking into Drow's entire team. A single Force Staff from a support or Drow’s own Gust is often enough to completely nullify his initiation. He is left exposed, having used his primary defensive tool, while Drow and her team are free to turn and kite him until he falls.
