Earth Spirit vs Jakiro

How this matchup plays

Picking one of these heroes often makes the other a liability, even on opposing teams. Jakiro needs enemies to stand still in his telegraphed area denial spells like Ice Path and Macropyre. Earth Spirit's entire kit is designed to prevent that from ever happening. His mobility from Rolling Boulder lets him easily dodge Jakiro’s slow setup, and he can immediately follow up with a kick or silence to interrupt the combo. It's a fundamental clash of tempos where Earth Spirit's instant repositioning completely invalidates Jakiro's slow, deliberate spellcasting.

Throughout the game, this means Jakiro can never feel safe. He wants to stay in the back and cast spells, but Earth Spirit is an expert at infiltrating the backline. Even if Jakiro finds a good position to cast his ultimate, Earth Spirit can simply kick him out of it or push a key ally to safety. For Jakiro to have an impact, his team needs to lock Earth Spirit down completely before the fight even begins. Otherwise, ES gets to control the flow of the engagement, leaving Jakiro unable to execute his game plan.
